enlarge picture Classical Gems- 25 years of the Deià Festival Patrick Meadows is a professional musician and resides in Deià. His hobby is researching unpublished musical manuscripts which have been performed for the last 25 years in the Archduke's residence "Son Marroig" following their rediscovery. This former student of Christoph von Dohnany became tired of touring around at the end of the 60s and without knowing Majorca he bought a house in Deià from a neighbour in the States. He met up with colleagues here: Peter Winkler (Hannover), Susanne Bradbury (California) and Carl Mansker, to name a few who were also living in Deià. Together they played music in the small village church at first and established the "Deià Festival". With time, the village church had become too small; now they play music in the historic halls of "Son Marroig". And after each concert Patrick Meadows hosts a dinner for artists and guests.
