Majorca is the largest of the Balearic Islands with a surface area of 3,640 square km. The furthest points are Sant Elm and the lighthouse of Cala Ratjada, 98.5 km distant. Coast to coast distances are between 60 and 90 km. The highest peaks on the Sierra de Tramuntana are El Puig Major at 1,445m, Puig de Massanella at 1,348m and Puig des Teix at 1,069m just to the NorthEast of the Hotel Es Moli.

The climate is typically Mediterranean with high summer temperatures (more than 30 degrees) and moderate in winter, with snow on the peaks of the Sierra de Tramuntana.
